Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park
Located on Chicago’s far South Side, the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP) is a historic development for the city and the state. Quantum computing is an emerging, innovative technology that has the potential to tackle many of the biggest challenges in health care, energy, transportation, financial services, agriculture and national security.
The IQMP will be a first-of-its-kind campus for quantum scale-up and other related quantum and advanced microelectronics research and development. It is designed to support the full ecosystem of companies, researchers, suppliers, end users and other partners working to facilitate the development and commercialization of quantum technologies. As a hub of research and investment, it will establish Illinois as a global leader in quantum and generate positive economic development for the surrounding community, city and state overall.
In its first phase of development, the campus will include a facility for anchor tenant PsiQuantum, a shared cryogenic cooling facility and a Quantum Research Center. Following this initial phase, it is anticipated that other tenants will join the campus, in addition to PsiQuantum expanding.
The IQMP is a shared venture amongst government, universities and colleges, labs and research institutions, and businesses. Partners include the State of Illinois, Cook County, City of Chicago, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Argonne National Laboratory, Chicago Quantum Exchange, Chicago State University, City Colleges of Chicago, Discover Partners Institute, Duality, Fermilab, Intersect Illinois, Northwestern University, P33, University of Chicago, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and World Business Chicago.
